ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Organizers of the Mardi Gras Street Festival expect tens of thousands of people to pack Front Street and Pine Avenue for the event Saturday from noon till midnight. Vendors were busy this afternoon putting up their tents. There won't be quite as many vendors as there have been in past years.

"We got about 40 vendors this year, all sorts of food, deserts, funnel cakes, normal festival Mardi Gras things," said Tommy Gregors.

8 bands will perform, and there will be a kids zone with games and activities for children. Admission to the festival is $5.
