Troopers: bicyclist survives car crash

The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the bicyclist involved a Greenville County crash that was originally listed as a deadly accident on the Highway Patrol's Realtime Traffic Information board survived the crash and was recovering in the hospital.

Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne with the SC Highway Patrol said  said the collision happened on Pendleton Road at White Horse Road around 9:20 p.m. Friday.

Rhyne said a man on a bicycle was crossing Pendleton Road and entered the path of a pick-up truck that was heading northbound.

Rhyne said the driver was unable to stop and collided with the cyclist, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rhyne said troopers originally labeled the case as a fatal crash due to the initial information they received at the scene.
