Many runners race here in Albany to qualify for the Boston Marathon and the tragedy that occurred there last year is on their minds.

Kimberly Decker is in Albany from Kansas.

She hopes to do well enough Saturday to qualify to run the Boston Marathon in April.

She remembers the heroic stories and the unity that was shown throughout the country after last year's Boston bombing.

"We band together in trouble like that and especially in the running community, it deeply saddened me to see something like that happen in such a great event, but again it shows the strength of America and folks can pull together and keep on doing what we can do," said Kimberly Decker Marathon runner.

Last year, 22% of the Albany Marathon participants qualified for the Boston Marathon.
