SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

A 35-year-old Savannah man was arrested and charged Friday in connection with a Feb. 17 purse snatching incident.

Police said Antwain Patrick Singleton robbed a 27-year-old woman of her purse at gunpoint at about 10 p.m. on Feb. 17. SWAT, Patrol and Criminal Investigation Division detectives went to his home at about 6 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of West 55th to serve arrest warrants. He was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said his home is a block from West 54th and Montgomery streets where the woman was robbed at gunpoint at 10 p.m. on Feb. 17.

Police said Singleton was released in June from Wilcox State Prison after serving 10 months of a four-year sentence for possession of narcotics/opiates and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He had also served 23 months of a four-year sentence from September 2008 until August 2010 for theft and obstruction.
