Albany church spreads the Gospel on air

Praise 105.5 has new owners, and it's a change that will keep them around.   The once closed 105.5FM was acquired by Greater 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church last year.

"We applaud the Greater 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church and their quiet giant Pastor Lorenzo Heard for taking on such a gigantic piece in a community," said Cecillia 'Ce-Ce" Morris.

'Ce-Ce" Morris is on air from 6-10 Monday-Friday serving the community with gospel music, positive unity and empowerment.

She says the church and the pastor are helping to continue that vision.

"Taking 105.5 FM to Praise 105.5 FM because we saw a dire need for 24 hours 7 days a week gospel music," said Morris.

Greater 2nd Mt. Olive turned what was once an R&B station into Praise 105, a Gospel Radio leader with plenty of engaging listeners.

"We got northern Florida. We got south Georgia. And from our website which is, we also have global listeners," said Morris.

Morris says the station is an icon in Albany. And while the station is taking a new path with gospel music and programming, the rich history of the station won't be lost.

"Once the station was sitting there with another owner that wanted to move to other things, then of course the rest is God's plan," said Morris.

The station is in the Albany Towers and will move into their new studio on Martin Luther King in the next couple months.
