We applaud the Albany City Commission for striking down part of an old ordinance that prohibits tattoo parlors from operating in downtown Albany.
Tattoo parlors of today have progressed beyond their old stereotypes.
"We've had some interest from individuals who owned and operate tattoo parlors. And the ones I've visited in Albany, they're actually very nice, very clean." said Aaron Blair, Downtown manager.
A quick look around shows that many in today's generation have embraced tattoos as a form of self-expression.
The city's move to update the ordinance is the very type of progressive thinking necessary to breath life into a struggling downtown.
