Is your infant sleeping properly? The Southwest Public Health District wants to reduce unexplained infant deaths. A study shows babies who sleep on their stomachs are more likely to suffer sudden infant death syndrome those who sleep on their backs.      

Experts also say babies should sleep on firm surfaces.

"And I think people think it won't happen to me, but it does, and if it didn't happen and you did these unsafe practices before just count yourself lucky," said Dr. Jacqueline Grant, District Health Director.
