Drivers who lollygag could be ticketed

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Drivers who lollygag in the left lane of highways could soon be ticketed. Wednesday, the state house overwhelmingly approved a bill to make it a misdemeanor for any driver on a divided highway not to move to the right when a car going faster approaches from behind.

We talked to one driver who says he supports cracking down on slow pokes.

"If they want to go slow they go over to the right hand side lane, not the fast lane, I'm angry at them," said Saif Uwlah, Motorist.

The sponsor of the bill says slow drivers who cause traffic to back up create dangerous traffic conditions and lead to aggressive driving. Even if it doesn't result in many tickets, he hopes it will educate slow drivers about the need to move over.
