COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Mayor Teresa Tomlinson will kick off her re-election campaign Saturday March 1 at noon.

The kick-off event will take place at the Tomlinson Campaign Headquarters at 3232 Macon Road (old Kmart Auto Shop.) The celebration will have speakers including Mayor Tomlinson, as well as music, balloons, yard signs and barbecue.

The event is free and open to the public. The Tomlinson Campaign expects more than 100 people to attend.

"This is more than a campaign event, it's a celebration of all we have accomplished and the great opportunities that lie ahead of us," said Mayor Tomlinson. "We hope people will bring their family, neighbors and friends. It will be a ton of fun."

The Mayoral Election will be held May 20. Early voting begins April 28.
