MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Customers of a Moultrie grocery store are shocked to learn that it's closing.

The Winn Dixie is one of 12 grocery stores closing across Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.      Bi-Lo Holdings, the parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie chains, announced the closures yesterday.

One customer told us he's disappointed.

"Well it's sad I mean we need the business and everything and I know people need jobs it's going to be a travesty around here because it ain't but a few jobs that's really paying the money. You know," said Oziel Tatum.

Officials say the closing stores are too close to other stores now owned by the company.

Riverside Manufacturing in Moultrie announced last week its closing its sewing operation and cutting 140 jobs.
