DUI driver will not face vehicular homicide charges in fatal crash

SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) -

A man charged with DUI in a crash that killed an Americus man will not face vehicular homicide charges.

Gregory Leonard, 53, is charged with driving while intoxicated, open container, and possession of a drug related object.

Georgia State Patrol said the victim, 47 year old Sam Singletary, died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with the vehicle Leonard was driving.

Troopers said Leonard was following a green turn signal at the stoplight when he pulled out in front of Singletary at the intersection of Highway 27 and Highway 3 Saturday night.
