Copper stolen from Moultrie hospital project

Moultrie police are searching for metal thieves who stole material being used in a hospital expansion project.

Police believe at least two crooks cut through a fence at a storage site on South Main Street sometime between Saturday and Monday morning.

They stole copper tubes used in ongoing construction at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

"It was three quarters of an inch, a half an inch in width, and about twenty feet in length," said Inv. Raul Leal of the Moultrie Police Department.

Police are still going through hours of surveillance tape to see if the crooks were caught on camera.
