Beaufort County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate vehicle break-ins

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) -

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating carbreak-ins that have spanned the past two weeks in the Bluffton area.

Vehicles in several Bluffton subdivisions have been brokenin to. Some vehicles were not secured and were entered without force, but themajority of the vehicles had windows smashed to make entry.

Reports have been taken from several neighborhoods,including Westbury Park, Fern Lakes, Lake Linden, Lakes at Myrtle Park, Baywoodand Meadowbrook.

The Bluffton Police Dept. has also fielded similar reportsin Mill Creek, The Farm, Hidden Lakes and Pinecrest. Investigators from bothagencies are working together to identify possible suspects.

According to reports, the item most commonly taken in thebreak-ins have been women's purses.

The Sheriff's Office encourages owners to secure theirvehicles and remove any valuable items before leaving your vehicle unattended.

Investigators are asking anyone with information tocontact either Investigator Cpl. D. Seifert at 843.255.3414 or Crimestoppers.
