The green Ford Escort involved in the accident
LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -
Two cars collided in the South bound lanes of I-75 about a mile North of exit 18 in Lowndes County Wednesday morning.
The accident happened around 7:45, but none of the passengers in either car sustained serious injuries.
According to Trooper Jeremy Kinsey, a Ford Escort lost control a it was attempting to pass a Lincoln Town Car.
"The green Ford Escort...was headed South bound. They were in the far left lane. They were passing the black Lincoln on the left," explained Kinsey. "For some reason, the driver of the Ford Escort lost control...they struck the concrete wall, bounced off, bounced off the wall, and then as they were spinning around the black Lincoln stuck them again. "Both vehicles struck the guard rail also."
Kinsey said the rain did play a factor in the accident, but did not believe the rain was the sole reason for the accident.
