Megan's House celebrates milestone

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany non-profit group celebrates a milestone and announces an expansion.

Megan's House provides temporary care for children with developmental disabilities to give their families a break.

They celebrated their 10th anniversary Tuesday night by thanking supporters. They also launched a new Dream House campaign to raise money for a new Megan's house. Director Nicki Wilson said "We're just getting it started. That's what tonight is sorta to announce that we are doing this and to kick it off. So this is sorta a two-fold program tonight, if you will. That we are celebrating our sustainability, but we are also celebrating our future."

The new house will be able to serve three to four families. The current home in Albany can only serve one family at a time. Megan's House has locations in Albany, Valdosta, and Waycross.
