The Winn-Dixie #101 in Moultrie will join 12 grocery stores closing across Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina as part of an acquisition deal.
Bi-Lo Holdings, the parent company of Bi-Lo and Winn-Dixie supermarket chains announced the closures Tuesday.
Officials said the closures are due to close proximity of the stores across affected areas.
The 13 store closings were announced after the Federal Trade Commission approved the Bi-Lo Holdings acquisition of Sweetbay, Harveys, and Reid's supermarket chains across the South.
In May 2013, Bi-Lo Holdings originally announced its intent to acquire 155 operating Sweetbay, Harveys and Reid's supermarket chains from Delhaize Group. At the close of the transaction, Bi-Lo Holdings will operate 134 of the stores.
