CORDELE, GA (WALB) -

A Cordele store clerk remains hospitalized after being shot during a robbery that was caught on camera.  The owner is asking for your help to identify the group of robbers who rushed into his store, firing shots.

Nick Patel says he's frightened after an armed gang robbed his store on 24th Avenue last night. Now he hopes police and the community can help him track down the criminals.

Monday night, this armed gang entered Cordele Food Mart on East 24th Ave and what happens next is scary.

They walked in with guns drawn, and start shooting. Two employees were inside.   Behind the counter one of robbers knocked down a pregnant store employee while another goes for the register.

Another employee, Rohit Rathod is walking across the store when the shooters enter. He goes for cover, but gets shot.

Store owner Nick Patel is still shaken up. "It's getting worse and worse. I used to walk to the store. I used to walk to the house. Now I'll be scared just to go from my store to my car."

He's had his business in Cordele for more than a decade without any criminal activity and doesn't understand why anyone would do this.

He says the store was getting ready to close for the evening when the robbery happened.     "I've been here almost 16 years and I haven't seen nothing like this."

Police don't have anyone in custody at this time, but ask those with might have information to come forward.

In the meantime Patel is hoping the police and the city will work with him to make the area safer.   "I want the city to clean their mess and get a clear view of the bridge so the next time it would be better for us and the community to have a safer store," said Patel.

Just last month Patel's other store, U.S. Discount, down the street was robbed.   Patel is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
