PELHAM, GA (WALB) -

Organizers of the third annual Viva La Rotary event hope to raise thousands of dollars to help feed hungry people in Camilla and Pelham.     

The Rotary Clubs in both towns are putting on the gala that includes dinner and gambling.     

It will be Saturday night at the Hand Trading Company in Pelham, with proceeds going to the Mitchell County Food Bank.

"They help about 250 families every month with food. And they qualify all the individuals, but it's really a needed charity.  Particularly with the economy in the shape it is right now,"  said Dan Bollinger of the Camilla Rotary Club.       

Last year's event raised $15,000.     

Tickets are $50 per person.  Social hour starts at 6:00 followed by dinner at 7:00.       

The grand prize this year will a  $3,000 smoker.
