A former Lee County business owner and his father will be sentenced in federal court Wednesday, for their parts in a fraudulent loans scheme.
Brad Heard, Junior, former owner of Backwoods Outdoors, and his father Brad Heard, Senior pleaded guilty to commissions or gifts for procuring loans in October.
Prosecutors say they gave kickbacks to a Southwest Georgia Farm Loan officer in exchange for more than $5 million in fraudulent loans.
They could receive up to 30 years in prison and one million dollar fines.
