ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some people who live in the Albany area feel this will be a great opportunity for the community to get out and use the resources and tools given to them to further their education become productive.

Residents say having the library re-open will help their children gain better access to the things they need to assist them in their learning. And because Westtown was able to revamp their entire facility with the 68,000 grant commissioners gave in 2012, they were able to install upgraded computer systems, fresh furniture and new reading materials. Library officials say this also gives adults a chance to use these tools to conduct search and apply for jobs. For Thai Cao, owner of American Nails in Albany says that whenever he decides to open up a business in a new town there is one thing he has to do first.

"Look for a public library first to do my business , you know faxing, use the internet stuff like that," Cao said.

He uses his time to check on the background of that town or city and demographics to be able to figure out how to cater to that community. Cao says this will be a great asset to the area and that it is something that his daughter would enjoy.

Westtown will open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 6pm, including Saturday from 10 to 2pm.
