Phoebe helps SWGA enroll in the Affordable Healthcare Act

Posted: Updated:

Albany residents had a chance Saturday to learn more about the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital hosted a workshop at the Albany Civic Center. More than a dozen navigators from Seedco were on hand to talk with people and help them get enrolled in a new healthcare plan.

Phoebe officials say they wanted to provide an opportunity for uninsured residents to get enrolled.

"We thought it was fitting for the health system, Phoebe, to provide their opportunity so that people could access to their own into security and access to the health system," said Darrell Sabbs.

"I needed to come out here today to find out how the plan worked and what a reasonable price was, because everyone needs it," said Mary West.

More than 100 people signed up during today's workshop. The deadline to enroll in the Marketplace is March 31st.
