Folks donated blood at First Baptist Church in Americus Friday to honor a young man who died in a car wreck in 2008. Josh Willis was an athlete from Americus who went on to play football at UGA.
He donated blood for the first time not long before his death and said it was something he planned to continue.
His parents have helped organize an annual blood drive in his honor ever since, and they're thankful people show up to donate in Josh's honor.
"They have rallied around this for years, Denise has done a good job and she is passionate about this continuing on," said Carl Willis, Josh Willis' father.
This was the 7th annual Josh Willis Memorial Blood Drive.
