NAACP celebrates 105 years

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia NAACP members spent some time Friday night looking back and looking forward.

Friday night Dawson Mayor Chris Wright was in attendance. He had to take a couple of months off after being shot last year. At the celebration Friday night, they discussed all the group has accomplished throughout the years and what progress needs to made in America.

"It's a great feeling because we have rich history in the NAACP, we have a legacy to uphold and take forward in the future," said Derrick Linkhorn, interim president.

Friday night's guest speaker was Chief Dougherty Superior Court Judge Willie Lockett.
