The Exchange Club presented a $500 check to the sheriff's office Friday afternoon to support its programs that help young people.
Sheriff Kevin Sproul says every bit makes a difference.
"If you can change the mindset of a young person, you can affect that next generation," Sproul said. "You can break a vicious cycle sometimes."
The sheriff's office runs up to 18 programs a year geared toward Dougherty County youth.
