Crisp County outdueled Lee County, 2-0, to open the 2014 Trojan Baseball Invitational in Leesburg Thursday.
Senior LHP Landon Whitman pitched a gem for the Cougars, who opened their 2014 campaign with the win.
Crisp County returns a large core of the team that went to the state semifinals in 2013.
The Trojans didn't fare so poorly themselves. The offense just never could get going.
The Trojan Invitational continues through Saturday.
Crisp County takes on Colquitt County at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The Packers turn around and play Lee County at 7:30 the same night.
