LAKE PARK, GA (WALB) -

The city of Lake park wants to do what it can to help bring businesses back to the mall complex located along both sides of Interstate 75.

Over the past three years, many of the shops at the mall have gone out of business. The Executive Director of the Lake Park Chamber of Commerce said the company that owns the mall markets it as an outlet mall, but that needs to change in order to bring businesses back.

"It needs to be opened up to anybody, not just an outlet store," Lake Park Chamber Executive Director Kathy Walker. "I suggested to the management to make one side of it outlets and then one side just local business, but that hasn't happened yet either."

The mall is managed by Courium, based in Alpharetta.
