VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Business leaders from Valdosta and Lowndes County were at Wiregrass Georgia Tech Thursday to talk about...business.

It was the eighth annual "Gathering of Eagles" event. Business leaders listened to motivational speakers and shared tips and ideas about how to make their businesses more successful in Valdosta and Lowndes County.

"It's a bit of a pause from the work week where we can comeback and think about our businesses, working on our businesses instead of working in the business," said Tray Taylor, one of the event coordinators and CEO of Valdosta Insurance Services.

"We just had good speakers that probably never would've heard about Valdosta in the first place, so it kind of puts on the map from that perspective," Taylor continued.

Valdosta's Mayor, John Gayle, was one of the speakers at the event.
