Leaders in Washington impressed with Georgia

Leaders in Washington are impressed with Georgia's effort to increase solar power. Public Service Commissioner Bubba McDonald recently met with the Energy Secretary and other top energy advisors to President Obama at the White House.

They discussed Georgia's progress in adding more solar power generation capacity into the state's electric system.

"I put some solar into and worked with power company, so now Georgia has almost 800 mega watts of solar power coming on board within the next couple of years," said Bubba McDonald, Public Service Commissioner.

Just recently, the state's second largest solar power plant opened in Mitchell County. The Camilla Power Plant includes 67,000 solar panels.
