Staley, Gamecocks at No. 4 in latest AP poll

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

The Gamecock women's basketball team is making a strong late season push with their eyes on the SEC Championship and a high seed for the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

The women's team came in at No. 4 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll following their big road win over the LSU Tigers on Sunday.

Coach Dawn Staley has the Gamecocks (23-2, 11-1 SEC) in fighting shape for the rest of the season and the upcoming postseason.

The Gamecocks face the Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday night in Lexington, Kentucky.

And as for the postseason, many NCAA basketball bracket analysts have the Gamecocks coming in as the No. 1 seed heading into the tournament.
