Albany chase suspect pleads guilty to start Drug Week

An Albany man pleads guilty to leading drug agents on a dangerous high speed chase through a neighborhood, and then jumping from his moving car. And it was all caught on video.

This is dash cam video from Albany Dougherty Drug Unit officers chasing a car 29 year old Vincent Jackson in August. He led drug agents on a chase through the South Albany neighborhood,  then suddenly bailed out of the SUV while it was still moving. The SUV plowed into a light pole, and it falls near that lady standing in her front yard.

Jackson plead guilty to eight counts of attempting to elude police, drug, and firearm charges during what the District Attorney office is calling Drug week. Dozens of drug cases are scheduled this week.

District Attorney Greg Edwards said "It's the best way for us to have all of the essential witnesses we have on these cases all together. Including the GBI crime lab personnel, who are literally all over the state."

Jackson will be sentenced at a later date. Monday morning more than a half dozen people charged with non-violent drug charges plead guilty. Trials started Monday afternoon.
