Appeal for Warren Hill stay of execution set Monday

Hill has been on death row for over 20 years Hill has been on death row for over 20 years
LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Monday morning the Georgia Supreme Court will hear an appeal from the state about Warren Lee Hill's stay of execution. Hill was given the death penalty after he beat and killed his inmate in a Lee State Prison back in 1990, after he was already imprisoned when he murdered his girlfriend 4 years prior.

Part of the battle of regarding his execution has dealt with the constitutionality of keeping drug information used for lethal injection secret, which is legal under new state law. However, this has become a major concern for some officials. Hill's attorneys agree saying the new drugs could subject Hill to pain.

The appeal is set for Monday at 10am.
