Homeless man charged with 4 burglaries in Tifton

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A homeless man in Tifton is charged with several burglaries.

Tifton Police arrested Robert Fountain after they say he shattered the front door at First Choice Title last Friday and tried to get away with 80 dollars in cash.

Since his arrest investigators say they connected him to four other burglaries.

"Which led to him being charged in with a September 20 and 23rd 2013 commercial burglary of A&A finance and another criminal intent to commit burglary  at the same business on September 27 and another commercial burglary at Tifton Motor Company in the same area on September 26," said Lee Dunston, Tifton Police Department.

Here is a statement from First Choice Title of Tifton on the burglary:

"First Choice Title of Tifton would like to acknowledge the level of professionalism shown by the staff of the Tifton Police Department & Tift County Sheriff's Department during the attempted burglary. A quick response time contributed greatly to the apprehension of the suspect. Plant Telecommunications Security played a vital role, alerting the authorities as soon as the break-in attempt had begun. Video surveillance footage recorded at the scene helped law enforcement tremendously. First Choice Title is proud to be a part of the community of Tifton. We look forward to many years serving this community with their financial needs."

- Joshua Morrison, First Choice Title of Tifton.
