ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

New job opportunities moving into Albany are providing a little light at the end of the tunnel for frustrated job seekers.

Hamilton Relay, a telecommunications and captioned telephone services provider for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind, will be expanding their Albany call center.  The company is looking to fill 40 openings over the next several months, and hopes to hire 12 workers immediately.

The Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission is excited about more employment opportunities moving into the area.

"It's a great testimony to the area if an existing industry chooses to expand.  I think there's no greater honor than the company choosing to reinvest in Albany and add jobs and add growth," said Justin Strickland, Interim EDC President.

The announcement comes after Baja's, a new California-Mexican fusion restaurant on Meredyth Drive, hired 56 employees.  Management says the restaurant is always looking for more workers, and continues to review applications.

Those interested in applying with Hamilton Relay can learn more information at www.workforhamilton.com, or by calling (229) 435-5185.  In person applications are also available at the Albany center at 2231 Dawson Road, Suite T.
