VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Valdosta School leaders now have a better idea of what parents want to see when it comes to which schools their children are zoned to attend.
The school system held the first of four public meetings to discuss redistricting Tuesday night. Many parents voiced their concerns.
The superintendent says he knows there's no option that will please everybody... but this is something that has to be done.
"A problem that we have, which could be considered a good problem, is that we've experienced a lot of growth in our community. We have to look at how we can distribute the students more evenly into the existing schools that we have," explained Valdosta City Schools Superintendent E. Martin Roesch.
The next meeting will be February 18th at 7 p.m. in the J.L. Lomax Elementary gym.
