ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Some of you may be struggling to figure out how to pay your utility bill. With all the cold weather we've had over the last month, many bills are a lot higher than usual.
With more cold weather on the way, Water Gas and Light officials remind you every degree you set your thermostat above 68 could increase your bill by as much as 5 %.

"Well everybody needs to keep their thermostat at 68, I know for elderly that's pretty cold, but every piece of clothing you put on, your body feels five degrees warmer," said Lori Farkas, WG&L.

If your bill is extremely high, WG&L will allow you to pay 75% on the due date and the balance later. But be sure you contact them and make a plan.

If you just don't pay your full bill, Your power could be cut off.
