Albany Airport cancels all Wednesday flights due to storm

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The winter storm is impacting flights in and out of Albany. It will be at least Thursday evening before the next flight will arrive at Southwest Georgia Regional airport.

Delta has canceled all Albany flights because of the impact in Atlanta.

"From what I understand right now, there's no charge to change your reservation because obviously it's a huge storm.  And they're trying to get out in front of it and realize what they need to do to prepare to get all their resources where they need them" said Airport director Yvette Aehle.

The airfield at Southwest Georgia Regional airport will remain open.  Flight 53-35 is scheduled to arrive in Albany at 5:09 Thursday evening and depart shortly after.

Airport officials urge travelers to check the status of their flights online.

Airport officials ask travelers to contact Delta to re-confirm plans by calling 1-800-221-1212 or by visiting Delta.com.
