GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The coroner and deputies are investigating a Greenville man's death after a shooting at a gentlemen's club off of Interstate 385 Tuesday morning.

Lt. Jeff Granner with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened at 1:54 a.m. outside of Platinum Plus on Frontage Road in Greenville.

Deputies said they were called to the club where they arrived to find the suspect struggling with Platinum Plus security and the gunshot victim, who was identified by the coroner as Charles Adam Timmons, 26. He said Timmons died at the hospital.

Deputies said the suspect, 31-year-old Jose Aceveno-Lopez, was leaving the club because he had not paid for services he received and went to his vehicle, but then he got back out of his truck and lunged at Timmons, who was a security guard at club.

Deputy Drew Pinciaro said Aceveno-Lopez then shot Timmons, got back inside his car to leave but ended up running into a dirt mound, causing his truck to get stuck.

Other security guards tried to subdue Aceveno-Lopez, but as deputies arrived, Pinciaro said he would not comply so he was shot with a Taser.

The coroner said Timmons' death was ruled a homicide and said he was shot once in the stomach, which killed him.

Aceveno-Lopez was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and remains in the Greenville County Detention Center on a no bond.
