ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

South Georgia high school students got the opportunity to check out all that Albany State University as to offer tonight.

ASU and the Dougherty County School system worked together on tonight's event that included campus tours and a financial aid workshop.

"It is always important because it is a touch point, it is an opportunity to expose them to higher education, some students have never visited a college campus, so this gives them the education they need to consider pursuing a higher education upon graduating," said Melody Pierce, Admissions coordinator.

Representatives from Darton State, Albany Tech, Troy University, and military recruiters were also there for a college fair tonight after the tours and financial aid workshop.
