School board searching for new superintendent

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Dougherty County School Board members hope to pare down a list of applicants for the superintendent's job Tuesday.

At a special called school board meeting in the morning, they plan to review 23 applications.

A representative with the Georgia School Boards association will be there to help with the discussion.

Board members hope to eliminate candidates they feel are not suited for the job.

    Low-income seniors and disabled adults who receive home-delivered meals in Southwest Georgia aren't being admitted into emergency rooms or nursing homes as often. That's according to the SOWEGA Council on Aging.
