NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Monday night in Madison.

According to police, 25-year-old Jamahl Saunders was found dead in the street along the 1200 block of Berwick Trail. Police say he came to the area armed and was near a car when shots were fired.

Officers found a gun near his body and say Saunders is believed to be responsible for some of the shots that were fired.

The driver of the car, 23-year-old Quvando Beddingfield, was shot in the arm and left the scene. Officers later found Beddingfield on Evergreen Drive.

Both Saunders and Beddingfield are convicted felons and have violent histories.

So far, no arrests have been made.
