    An overnight crash involving semi truck turned deadly on Interstate 75 in Crisp County.According to Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock, a car suffered a blowout and came to a rest in the traffic lane of I-75 south near exit 94.While awaiting assistance from a deputy, a tractor trailer slammed into the back of the car. The driver was thrown from the vehicle and killed.It happened around 1:45 AM.The truck driver was not seriously injured.The Georgia State Patrol and the GDOT are investigating.T...More >>

This is a list of shelters open for those in need of a place to stay or get warm during the wintry weather.

If you know of a shelter in your area, please email newstip@wbrc.com with the details.

You can also visit RedCross.org and search for nearby shelters. Many of the shelters listed below are Red Cross shelters or warming stations.

ALABASTER

A Red Cross warming station opened at 9 a.m. Tuesday at 108 Plaza Circle in Alabaster. The doors will remain open until 9 p.m. Tuesday. Same hours Wednesday and Thursday if needed. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m. for anyone who needs it. Coffee will be available 24 hours for any emergency personnel.

BIRMINGHAM
