VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The annual Valdosta Bird Supper in Atlanta is being pushed back due to the Winter weather.

The Bird Supper was scheduled to be held this Wednesday, but will now be held on March 5th. The Bird Supper gives residents in Valdosta and Lowndes County to discuss issues that are important to them with state legislatures.

Valdosta's mayor says the city did the right thing.

"Far as I know, this has never happened before, and the Bird Supper has been goin' on for over 50 years," Said Valdosta Mayor John Gayle.

"We were conscious for the safety of our citizens and the legislature and our delegation, so we just decided the best thing to do was to postpone it until March the 5th," Gayle continued.

Anyone who has already purchased a ticket will not need to buy a new ticket. If you have not purchased a ticket but would like to, tickets are on sale at Valdosta City Hall and at the Lowndes County Administrative building in Valdosta.
