A Camilla murder suspect was denied bond Monday.

Friends of 21-year-old Rodney Pate are still in shock after he was gunned down Saturday night near an apartment complex on Shivers Alley.

Police say 21-year-old Samuel Stork fired eight shots, hitting Pate in the upper torso.

Witnesses told investigators the two had an argument, Stork left, then came back and shot Pate.

"I told everybody to move. Then I heard the gunshots. I just stood there in shock. And he just kept shooting.  Then he turned around and left," said Adarrius Keaton, who was friends with Pate and witnessed the shooting.

Stork ran off after the shooting and was arrested several hours later.

"We'll continue to see if anyone comes forward as far as a motive. We know they had a confrontation a short while prior to the shooting in the same area," said Chief Investigator Robert Casterline with the Camilla Police Department.

Stork is charged with one count of murder and is being held in the Mitchell County jail.
