VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Valdosta Chief of Police says charges are pending against an Albany man who hit and killed a Valdosta State University student.

The Chief of Police says he is meeting tomorrow with his traffic unit and a prosecutor to discuss what charges will be brought against 21 year old Michael Laslie. Laslie is currently not in custody.

21 year old Elizabeth Lohmar died Saturday after she was hit by a truck driven by Laslie on Wednesday while she was in a crosswalk in Valdosta. Lohmar was initially taken to South Georgia Medical Center and later underwent surgery for her injuries Wednesday night.

WALB is told that Laslie is a graduate of Deerfield-Windsor school in Albany.
