Camel goes red to support women's heart health

McMINNVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

People all across the country wore red Friday to support the fight against heart disease in women.

But, Tic Tac Farms took it to a whole new level.

They volunteered their camel, Beau, to be painted red for a fundraiser at Vanessa's Place in McMinnville.

Camels have one of the largest hearts of any land mammal and suffer from many of the same cardiac health issues as humans.

Don't worry about Beau being painted red. The red dye is animal-safe and can be easily washed out.

All the money raised went to the American Heart Association.
