ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Girls Inc. Hosted their 16th annual Daddy Daughter Dance at the Albany Civic Center Friday night.

Organizers say the special date night helps build a bond between little girls and their fathers.

"This is an opportunity for dads really just to recommit their relationship to their daughters. The bond between a dad and daughter is so important, so crucial to a little girl's development," said Sherell Alexander, Executive Director, Girls Inc.

The proceeds from Friday night's event are split between Girls Inc, Girl Scouts, and Habitat for Humanity.
