History lecture expected to begin tradition

An accomplished author and professor at Florida A&M university will share his knowledge of black history with south Georgians.

Dr. David Jackson Will speak on Monday night at seven o'clock at First Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville. It's free and open to the public, more than 400 people are expected to attend.

"There are going to be people from all over the community, all over the region attending the event, there will be young people from every corner, so you name it, they'll be here," said event coordinator Michael Bryant.

This is the first year that the Thomasville FAMU alumni association has worked with Thomas University, Thomas County Ministerial Alliance, and Bishop Hall Charter School to put on a history lecture session. They hope to continue it for years to come.
