Wiregrass Georgia Tech helps kids get healthier teeth

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Around 50 kids from Lowndes and surrounding counties now have healthier teeth

Wiregrass Georgia Tech participated in "Give Kids A Smile Day" for the fourth year. Children who may not be able to afford dental services got free cleanings... flouride... and x-rays.

"The parents are extremely greatful," said Sandi Woodward, Director Programs Director at Wiregrass Georgia Tech. "There are a lot of kids here, a lot of folks all at one time. We have a good time with it and it's good for the children and it provides our students here in the dental assisting and dental hygiene program with real world experience treating patients."

The program is sponsored every year by the American Dental Association.
