VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia woman who has been quilting for generations is still at it... Even as she turns 100.

Nettie McLeod will celebrate her 100th birthday tomorrow.

She has lived in the Valdosta area all her life and spends much of her time making quilts and corn shuck dolls. She says she's perfectly healthy and has advice for those of us who hope to live to be 100.

"Just live every day and serve the Lord. And don't drink strong drinks," McLeod stated.

She said after 100 years, the thing she remembers the most is going to church and her family's mule and wagon.

"We didn't have a car," explained McLeod, "we had a mule and wagon. [My brothers and sisters and I] would make a pallet in the wagon so all of us children would have a good seat."
