VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Some Valdosta school children enjoyed an orchestra performance at Valdosta State University today.

The VSU Symphony Orchestra gave a preview of their "Voyage of the Seas" performance scheduled for this weekend. The orchestra includes current VSU students as well as professional musicians.

After the performance... the children had an opportunity to ask the musicians questions.

"The kids, believe it or not, they get into this," said Atlanta Symphony Principle Timpanist Mark Yancich. Yancich is one of two principle timpanists performing in the orchestra.

"They're quiet, they're attentive. It's just a wonderful thing for them. It's a great introduction into a wonderful art form; a living art form," Yancich continued.

You can enjoy the concert tomorrow at 8 or Sunday at 3 in the Whitehead Auditorium in the Fine Arts Building.
